What an amazing mission! The Gospel was preached, lives were changed, homes were built, friendships were made, skills were taught, and God was praised and honored. Here is the Team as we met up in Miami on the way down to Honduras. Kevin, Brian, Sam, Paul, Jim, Tom, Brandon, and David.
Elda and Jose were so very excited to have a new home, their OWN home, to live in now! Before they were staying with others, renting when they could, and had no secure place to call home. Now, they have a beautiful home with a spectacular view that is safe, secure, and permanent. There were many tears of joy by all as we presented them their new home.
Alex, Francis, Alexandra, and Lean now have their own home for the first time in their lives together as a family! Being able to have their whole family, under their own roof, all at one time was one of the things that Francis tearfully gave thanks for when we presented her with her home. Daily the whole family worked with the construction crew in rain and sun to get this project finished. Now, the family has a safe, secure, and permanent home to live in.
What a joy it was to complete this home. While homes 1 and 2 were being tightened-up by some of the crew, the majority of the construction crew completed this home in a single day! Gloria, Jose, and Dania were simply filled with tears of joy as the darkness of night started to enclose the construction crew, when we presented them with their new home.
Home #4 was an extra special home. Michael, the son of Carmen, has been working on this home of his own as a gift to his mother. He bought the land and made the adobe bricks. We were able to put a roof on the structure. We also hand-mixed cement and were able to finish the floor in one room of the 3-room home. The rest of the supplies were also procured for Jonathan to return and finish the concrete floors with local help.
Jim and Brian taught 8 welding students the skill of arc welding in a rigorous 4-day class. Besides course work, they also had devotions as part of the curriculum. These guys knocked it out of the park! Excellent students, they completed the course, and Jim and Brian were able to teach them several other welding techniques that are part of the advanced course. These 8 men now have the knowledge and skill to provide for themselves and their families, breaking the generational chain of poverty in their families' lives.
If you have not already done so, 'Like' and 'Follow' us on Facebook as we give daily updates while on mission with additional details. This is a great way to not only follow us on mission, but to also learn of specific ways you can pray for and uplift us as we work around the world to make Jesus known through physical works, gospel preaching, and biblical teaching. Please partner with us through donations to help support and fund these missions around the world. Our next mission is to Nepal in November where we will again teach a group of men the skill of arc welding and also conduct a Pastor Training Conference.
